I did not design this site, but am a generally tech-savvy volunteer for avance-dallas.org
I have a breadcrumb that controls a few links in my main theme, namely the facebook, twitter, and youtube icons. I'd like to change the path that those links link to. I've read up on the purpose of a breadcrumb and realize that Im going to need to edit another file to make these changes. Any idea where this file would be?

    Hello Will,

BreadCrumb control also known as SiteMapPath control obtains navigation data from a site map.

    1. You can check the SiteMap node link so that it will reflect to the bread crumb control

    2. Create a custom class that inherits from Telerik.Cms.Web.UI.Breadcrumb and override its InitializeItem method from where you can access each SiteMap node and change its Text or Url property

    3. Create a custom control inherits from SiteMapPath or Composite control.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Will,

I think the items you mention have nothing to do with the Breadcrumbs Content. If I were to do this, I'd place the images and links in a Generic Content control in the template for the website. In the Pages main menu go to Templates and choose edit. See if the images are in the template and edit the content if they are.

    Hello PJulicher,

yes, if this is a shared content it would be better, because you will be able to update it from one place - the content item of Generic Content module.

It appears that those 3 icons, despite looking like they were part of the breadcrumb, are not. They are not part of any control. Could they be part of a PNG header? Im going to see If I can find the image file for the header

EDIT- I used firefox to inspect the element and it appears that those links are being defined in the default.aspx file. Firefox says that this is located at avance-dallas.org/site/Default.aspx...
    One problem-
When I navigate to this directory with my FTP client, I cannot find a file named "Default.aspx", only Global.asax and Web.config

    Hello Will,

Check your  master page. Sitefinity pages are dynamic and they are not physical files.

I checked the master file located at site/App_Master/Site.Master

I didnt see anything in the file that looked related to the social media bar. I had modified this file before and dont recall seing anything about it then either

    Hi Will,

How did you check the Site.master?
You need to log into Sitefinity and then In the Pages main menu go to Templates, select the "Site" template and choose Edit. I suspect the images are in a Generic Content Control that is placed inside the template.

If you would create a new page and the images are already there, I'm sure it was build like stated above!

I checked by opening up my FTP client, opening the file, and reading its contents. I have also checked the site template. I do not see a control of any kind for those social media links. This is what is giving me such a hard time.

Oh god I feel stupid. After looking for it for the 50th time, I just now saw the generic content control. It wasnt clearly visible until I changed the display mode from overlay to classic. Im so sorry about wasting your time

    Hi Will,

No need to feel sorry. I'm glad you got it figured out. Since I believe the Edit Mode to be a common issue, I will write an article on it.
Don't forget to mark my post as the answer to your question.
