First, I'm new to Sitefinity and to asp.net, so please forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question.

I want to format the Image Gallery Simple list so that it removes the <ol> formatting and simply places the images inline.  I've been going over some tutorials and it seems like I should be able to find a GalleryListView.ascx Control Template or something, but I can't seem to find anything. Most of the documentation I've seen covers Sitefinity 3.6, and it looks as though many of the ControlTemplates referenced in the older documentation don't exist in the same places as before.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction here?  I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    JP

    Hi JP D,

    1. Download the external templates from your account >> downloads section

    2. ImageGallery is ContentView based control, so that its templates should be mapped through ItemListTemplatePath of the Control ( open the control in edit mode, advanced tab, TemplatePaths)

3.Modify the template in accordance with your needs.

You can download the documentation related to new backend architecture from our support page. There is a chm file - DevManual 3.7 chm(12MB).

    Thanks Ivan,

I downloaded the templates and placed the GalleryListView.ascx file in the Sitefinity/TemplateControls/Libraries folder.

I mapped to the template like you said, and everything seems to be linked up correctly, but now the images aren't showing up.  I'm getting the dates to appear, but no images or anything else.

Looking at the template, I'm not sure what needs to be changed so that the images paths are properly linked.

    Thanks again for your help.

I can get the thumbnails to appear if I select the List & page display, but I want to use full-size images and I think the Simple list display would work best.  Can you help me configure the GalleryListView.ascx file to support this method of displaying the images?

    Thanks.

    Hello JP D,

You have to map GallerySimpleList.ascx template. Below is a list with the presentation modes and templates that they use

    • ListDetails

    GalleryListView.ascx
    GalleryListViewItem.ascx

    • Lightbox

    GalleryLightboxList.ascx

    • One per page

    GalleryOnePerPageList.ascx

    • Simple list

    GallerySimpleList.ascx

    • BigImageAndList

    GalleryBigImageAndList.ascx

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Ivan,

Where do I find those template files? I only see the GalleryListView and GalleryListViewItem templates in the ControlTemplates folder I downloaded from Sitefinity.

I'm working with the trial version of Sitefinity and don't seem to have access to that particular download. Does this mean I need to purchase a license before I'm able to make these kinds of modifications to the site?

    Hi Ivan,
I downloaded the Developer Manual from the link you provided and all I see is "Navigation to the webpage was canceled".  Can you please advise?

    Thanks!

    Hello Devin,

Right click the file and go to its properties. There on the bottom right corner you will see a button saying Unblock content or something similar. Unblocking the content will fix the problem.
