    Hi,

    We are using sitefinity for our contet website and the menu has been a problem in Firefox browser. The page looks fine with Internet explorer and Google Chrome but in firefox, when page loads, all sub menu items are open and only first 2 items are visible.

    Once I hover over the mouse, it hides the submenu and the menu looks normal after I hover over all menu items.

    It looks like, the script which will hide submenu items are not called on page load and until I move mouse over them. Once I hover the mouse, then script executes and places everything normally.

    You can see issue in http://www.sectorserve.com. Please see website in Internet explorer and Firefox and please advise what could be causing the problem and how can we resolve this issue.

    Sitefinity Version: 3.7.2096.2
    Menu: For menu we are using Sitemenu control

    Thanks
    Atit

    Hi

    I just checked and found that issue occurs with IE 9 as well. It is fine with IE 8 but on IE 9 behavior is same as it is on Firefox.

    Can you please look into this matter on urgent basis please.

    Thanks
    Atit

    Hello Atit Thaker,

    There seems to be some issues with the styles applied to the site, do you have any scripts running on that page that might interfere with the styling of RadMenu? If so, can you please try disabling them and see it it will help. If the problem persists, can you provide me with temporary login credentials for your site's backend so that i can inspect this further.

    Hi Boyan,

    I do not see on the page any script which may interfere with the styling of the radmenu.

    ALso, the menu is a standard siteMenu control not any custom menu which has any specific JS attached with it.

    Here is the link to a staging server website the problem is same.

    http://schoolsonlineinformationportal.live2.dev.radixweb.net/Home.aspx
    username: admin
    Password: admin123

    Both websites have the same implementation and the problem you resolve on above URL should help us resolve on live server as well.

    Please let me know what makes website work so I can replicate the solution on live website.

    Thanks
    Atit

    Hi Atit Thaker,

    The problem with the menu is inside the CSS that you are applying to the template. In the main template I've dropped a generic content control and added some CSS:

    <style>
        .test ul, .test li, .test ul a {
        float: none;
        }
        .rmSlide {
        display: none;
        }
        .rmSlide li, .rmSlide li a {
        background: none repeat scroll 0 0 red !important;
        }
        .RadMenu_BRSMenu .rmVertical, .rmRootGroup ul.rmHorizontal, .RadMenu_Context ul.rmHorizontal {
        float: none !important;
        }
    </style>

    You can see the result on the staging server:

    Hi Jordan,

    Thanks. That seems to solve the problem of menu not being loaded correctly.

    When I try copying the same style to css file, the style is not applied.

    I tried copying this line to the CSS file specifically,

    .rmSlide li, .rmSlide li a {
        background: none repeat scroll 00 #26589C !important;
    }

    The reason for putting it in a css file is, I need the submenu back ground to be an image and if I put that lines in master page, it does not/will not apply image correctly for all pages as URL to the image would be different.

    Thanks
    Atit

    Hello Atit Thaker,

    You should move the css into a separate file. I put it in a generic content control because I don't want to mess your CSS.
