    Hi Guys,

I don't know what causes this and I would appreciate it if you could help with an answer.

I've dropped a search box from Sitefinity onto my template page and proceeded to skin the search box so that it uses a rounded corner background image and instead of the button default, I've used a background image for this too.

In Firefox everything's grand (of course) but in IE7 and IE8 the alignment is out. In IE 8 the search button is inline with the search box but above it slightly and vice versa for IE7.

What I have noticed is that it creates a commented Text - Empty Text Node where the closing fieldset tag should be and the closing fieldset tag does not exist at all.

Is this a known issue and can it be fixed?

It should also be mentioned that I've slightly modified the search control and removed the Text attribute. I also know that those Text - Empty Text Nodes are normally created in my html if, for example, an opening table tag is on the next line after a closing div tag. It seems IE does not like white space, so if I move the opening table tag onto the same line as the closing div tag, it removes the Text - Empty Text Node which I have now done in the search control without any joy.

    Hello James,

Thank you for using our services.

We do not have records of such known issue. Basically the markup of the Search Box control is an ASP.NET TextBox controls and a simple <input> element. Probably you can provide us with a live link so that we can see what is going on and probably suggest some CSS rules for lining it up properly in IE browsers.
