    i have developed a custom tab strip and uploaded it in my project, now that i am trying to assign a skin that i made to it, its not acepting it and the page generates an error saying the skin by the name specifed does not exist and that you should enableembeddedskins to false, which i did, but still its not accepting my custom skin and generating errors.

    previously i had done the same in visual studio enviournment and it was working just fine, where i applied the same skin to telerik tabstrip.

    all the CSS files have their references in the master page file.

    but when i am trying to repeat the same step, it is giving me errors.

    the custom controls are placed in projectname > custom controls , where as my skins are placed in skins folder in the same directory.

    am i doing something wrong here. do i need to place these folders in the sitefninty folder in the project, or something else.

    P.S i followed the same same tutorial on telerik website that guids on how to make a custom skin and apply it.

    Hello shahid Aziz,

    Here are the steps you have to follow ( or make sure that you have followed) to apply a custom skin.

    1. In a App_Themes folder of the application root you should have a theme.
    2. Inside this theme folder put your skin file

    sample:

    RadTabStrip.skin

    <%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Assembly="Telerik.Web.UI" Namespace="Telerik.Web.UI" %>
    <telerik:RadTabStrip
        runat="server"
        Skin="MYCUSTOMSKIN"
        EnableEmbeddedSkins="false"
        >
    </telerik:RadTabStrip>

    3. Inside the theme root create a new folder that has the same name as your skin ( in the example "MYCUSTOMSKIN")

    App_Themes
      I_MYCUSTOMSKIN
      I_RadTabStrip.skin

    4. In the newly create folder put your styles.css file and skin images ( if there are)

    App_Themes
      I_MYCUSTOMSKIN
      I     I_ styles.css
      I     I_Images
      I
      I_RadTabStrip.skin

    Sincerely yours,
