    Hi,

I have a client that wants to use your events module to post their Meetings. However, in their buisness model, they have items deemed Agenda's which take place during their meetings. An agenda is basically a sub-meeting that takes place during the time frame of the larger meeting. It has fields such as title, start time, end time, etc. There can be multiple agenda items per meeting. My question is, what is the best way approach to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Bobby

    Hello Bobby,

The Events module structure is flat - you have only one level of items. There is not hierarchy, so you could not have Meeting and multiple agenda items.  You could have only multiple meetings or multiple agendas.

    There are three options

    1. Create multiple meetings or agendas and make some relation between them - Title, Category, Tag etc. If this works for you you could use the module out of the box.

    2.  Create a custom module which is similar to Blogs - there you have Blog and posts for each blog. The posts are related to the Blog by ParentID, so each post has parent - Blog. You may have multiple blogs and multiple posts inside a blog.  Here you need to implement an interface that will act as IBlog interface. Then you should link the IContent object to the object  of your interface.

    Here are some useful links

    3. Use Blogs module instead of Events or just a new module that inherits from Blogs. In this case you only  have to change some of the labels, but you will be able to re use the views that Blogs module implements. You should also have a public control - RadScheduler or RadCalendar that binds all Blogs/posts if you want to use a public control. You may find this post useful Insert/Upadate/Delete content items in RadScheduler ( sample from scratch)

    Kind regards,
