    Hello,

I need to be able to migrate content between my development and staging environments. As everything is stored in the database I was considering using RedGate Data Compare, however I need to understand a little about the structure of the database.

If i drag a control onto a page presumably the following is stored:

    The properties of the control
The page it has been added to

How is this stored in the DB?

    Thanks
    higgsy

    Hi Alastair,

There is a  data layer that cares about the database tables, relations and stored procedures. By default we use only the API to make changes to the database and there are not simple SQL transactions that we make.
Properties are saved to sf_CmsControlProperty. Inside sf_StagedCtrlLinks we keep the ID of the page on which a given control has been dropped.
