    Hi Duncan,

    Please open the following page:
    Check its source code. You will find the following:
    <div id="basefooterlinks">
       <href="../Information/ContactDetails.aspx">Contact Us</a> | <href="../Information/Sitemap.aspx">Site Map</a> | <href="../Information/WebsiteHelp.aspx">Site Help</a> | <href="../Information/LegalInformation.aspx">Legal</a> | <href="../Information/PrivacyPolicy.aspx">Privacy Policy</a>
    <href="Item not found: [Sitefinity]dadcfd95-3e6b-46a8-a971-6920481a5a31"></a>
    </div>

    Check the control in this location, which produces this html. My guess is that a dynamic link is not resolved propertly for some reason ([Sitefinity]dadcfd95-3e6b-46a8-a971-6920481a5a31)

    How is this link inserted?

    hhhmmm, we shouldn't be able to access these pages without the extensions, that is why it thinks it is up one direcotry... Is this due to a wildcard mapping in IIS?

    Just checked, don't see a .* mapping in IIS... Is there some reason why it is allowing no extension?

    Hello Duncan Evans,

    Strange enough, I do not see the broken link either.
    I spent some time with the error, and figured out that this is a problem in Sitefinity 3.6SP2. When you have a link to a secured page and you are logged out, you get a link like:
    site.com/item not found: [provider]Guid

    This is resolved in 3.7 though, so if you see any errors in the log related to that problem, you could consider an upgrade.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    That's strange because i do not have any secured pages (other than that Sitefinity administration pages) on my site, and certainly no links to secured pages...

    I will try an upgrade and postback the results.

    Thanks,

    Duncan

    An upgrade and some time (waiting on GoogleBot) seemed to have cleared the weird 404 errors i was seeing.

    :)
