    Hello rent,

    1. How in News View control make link "Back" such as link "full story", which will be redirect to back?

When you click on "full story" you are redirected to the details mode of the item. When you click back - you go the List mode. You can change the labels or replace the controls by mapping the external templates ListPageMaster.ascx and ListPageDetail.ascx

    2. How to localize a public controls such as News View and Events view and others?

You can create a custom resx files for your controls

    .\UserControls\CustomUserControl\App_LocalResources\CustomUserControl.ascx.fr.resx
    .\UserControls\
    CustomUserControl\App_LocalResources\CustomUserControl.ascx.es.resx

    3. How to localize a CMS?

We have CompiledLocalization resources in es, fr, hr, hu, it, ru.

    4. Why in Add controls panel is not present the Testimonials components?

We use these modules for some internal testing. We hope that we will be able to ship those modules out of the box in the future versions. Right now, they are not tested and not intended to power a live web site.

    Hello rent,

There are two parts that you can localize - the front end and the backend.
    1.Frontend - ListPageMaster and ListPageDetails.

    - Map the external templates.
    - Create resource files for your version as described in the previous post.

    2. BackEnd - it is represent by the NewsViewControl designer template.
    - Map the control designer
    -  Create a resource file as described in the previous post

In the resource file - let's say it is for Russian.
Your resx file should look as below:
    ListPageMaster.ascx.ru.resx

However, you can map the templates directly through the NewsView control >> Advanced >> Appearance >> ItemListTemplatePath and SingleItemTemplatePath properties.

    1. About localizing Sitefinity CMS (look previos post).

    2. NewsArchive component in preview mode gives this message:

Left operand 'Publication_Date' is not supported. Supported left operands are :
    Name
    Description
    Author
    Category
    ID
    Tag.ID
    Tag.Name
    ParentID

    How fix this? Thanks.

    Hello rent,

    1. About localizing Sitefinity CMS (look previos post).

I sent a reply to this question in my first reply to your request from 5/28/2009

    2. NewsArchive component in preview mode gives this message:
It seems that you have changed the FilterExpression property value of the control. Could you send me the value that you have entered for FilterExpression  and I will let you know what the problem is.

    Hi rent,

Since you have not included information in this ticket of which Sitefinity version you are using, I have attached two versions of the compilation resources - for Sitefinity Standard 3.6 SP2 and for Sitefinity Standard 3.6 SP2 for .Net 2.0 .

You need to place the "ru" folder from the corresponding .zip file into your bin folder.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Sonya

    Hi rent,

you can find the instructions on how to set up multilingual sites in Sitefinity under the localization section of our User Manual on the page 120. Note that localization is possible only with standard version. Community version of Sitefinity does not support localization.

If you are looking to have only one culture (e.g. Russian), you can do this simply as in any other .NET application - in web.config, place the <globalization> element between the <system.web> tags and set the culture and UI culture to russian. More info on the globalization element can be found here.

I hope you will find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    All the best,
    Ivan

    Hi rent,

can you please elaborate on the "not working". For example, if you have mapped the templates for the NewsView control (see more info on this here) and then placed the App_LocalResources folder in the same folder where the mapped templates are you can add local resource files for the Russian and they will be used (because the application culture has been changed in web.config). More information on the web page resources you can find here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms227427.aspx

Namely, if community version is used, Sitefinity behaves as a standard ASP.NET application.

Note however, that you must map templates to external files, otherwise you'll be using embedded files.

    Ivan
