I have been able to successfully integrate active directory with Sitefinity. However, I would like to know how to get the user profiles to populate with correct data. I would like the first name and last name fields to populate with the first and last names in the Active Directory.

    Thanks!

    Hello Amanda,

You need a custom provider that sets profile data. In ASP.NET there is no class that you can inherit from. You could inherit from TelerikProfileProvider and set the First and Last name with database transactions, because you cannot change the FirstName  and LastName ActiveDirectory values through Sitefinity. Sitefinity is just an acceptor for Active Directory. You could take a look at this forum post.

    Hello Ivan,

Thank you for your quick response. I'm not interested in doing a custom provider at this point in time, but it's good to know how to do so.

Next question, is it possible to use something other than: attributeMapUsername="sAMAccountName" ? Could I have it map to something other than the sAMAccountName?

    Hi Amanda,

By default TelerikADRoleProvider uses sAMAccountName. If you want to use another property you can override the virtual method RetrieveUserFromDN and implement your logic there where you can get a collection of DirectorySearcher -  PropertiesToLoad

    All the best,
