    Hello All,

We are planning to populate the sitefinity calendar events automatically by using an ical formatted url. Is this functionality available in Sitefinity 3.7 SP3 version? Basically we are looking at something like Google Calendar where you can add another calendar using the “Add by URL” functionality. I am beginner in developing with Sitefinity, could you please provide me some suggestions on how to implement this functionality.

    Thank you,

    Hello San,

You can use RadScheduler or RadCalendar  control which is bound to content items. You can add a  custom url metafield to the content type you are going to use and then retrieve this item during the binding in the RadCalendar /RadScheduler.

Please take a look at our demos

    RadCalendar
    RadScheduler

    Hello Ivan,

Thank you for your reply. Do you have any code implementation for below mentioned method for RadCalendar/ RadScheduler? Is it not possible to use the native Sitefinity Events view or Events Schedule view controls to obtain this functionality.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you,
    San

    Hello San,

You can create a control that binds events list to RadScheduler and set the urls you want to see. If needed you can expose a custom field to events, so you can set set the iCal url

Please take a look at this post
