    Hi

I am try to find out if it is possible to add either a Tag or a Category to a page.

I would like to write a filter for for selecting pages based on a specific value but cant seem to see how I would go about achieving this.

I can see that it is possible to tag/categorise a generic content item, but as I don't want to display this information just search for it I don't think that is the correct way of approaching this.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello stephen,

Sitefinity 3.x does not support extending page properties. The only way you can do tagging/categorizing is creating a custom data layer (Open Access, LINQ) to persist your custom properties and retrieve them on each call.

Does Sitefinity 4.0 offer this functionality? Can I tag & categorize pages in Sitefinity 4.0? I've read something about being able to apply a single set of categories & tags to all content on the site, not just specific modules, and to apply facet taxonomy. But I haven't found any details on what that means. All clues would be helpful.

    Hi Ben,

There will not be UI to do this for the official release. We implemented adding custom fields from the UI for content modules. For pages you can work only programmatically.
