I currently have a page with the blog module with the url
    blog/default.aspx and the detail page
    blog/default/08-10-22/Design_for_Design_s_Sake_Uncertain_Results.aspx

I want to be able to change the detail page url to uses the category instead of the date and also remove the default so the detail url would kind of look like this
    blog/category1/Design_for_Design_s_Sake_Uncertain_Results.aspx

Does any one know how I can accomplish that.

    Thanks

    Hi Rob,

you can change the urlRewrite property of the blogs provider to look something like this:

    <

    add name="Blogs" urlRewriteFormat="[Publication_Date]/[Category]/[Title].aspx" ...

Make sure you make the category input required in this situation. On the side note, the square brackets in the urlRewriteFormat represent a value that will be replaced by a metafield value. So you can add any of the module supported metafields to be part of the url.

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    All the best,
    Ivan
