    Hi.
Is there a capability for site users manage their blogs not from administration area? Can they do it like in the google blogger or an other blog engine?

    Hello Anatoliy,

The Blogs module supports MetaBlog API, which means it is compatible with any blogs engine which supports blogging through these APIs. You could for example use Windows Live Writer.
For more information on these APIs and setting Windows Live Writer, please refer to our Developer Manual and the article MetaBlog API.

    I hope this information helps.

How can I add ability to do it via MetaBlog API using ASP.NET UI? Or should I use Blogs API to implement it by myself? In this case can I use controls from administration area? Is there samples or tutorials about it?

    Hi Anatoliy,

if your custom blog application will be part of Sitefinity, you should use Blogs API (e.g. the standard Blogs module is using Blogs API). You can reuse some controls of the admin area, but since we have not tried to do that before, we cannot say if you are going to experience any problems with that.

We have a video on our site which I think will give you a good idea on how to start working with Sitefinity Blogs API:

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan
