    Hi,
Should I be able to use the build functionality for building custom controls or it's not needed?

Is visual studio just used as an advanced editor or does it actually add compile functions?

The min requirements is the part I can't seem to get a hold on and visual studio seems to add a bunch
of files that I suspect are not needed to add the control to my Sitefinity website.

Can anyone point me to a simple control or an online control repository so I can look at examples?

    Thanks
    Michael

    Hello Michael,

You can use Sitefinity's API to build your custom controls and your own logic. For examples you can take a look at

    http://www.sitefinity.com/documents/SitefinityDeveloperManual_Aricles_v3_6.chm
    http://www.sitefinity.com/blogs.aspx
