    Dear All,

While I'm building the Sitefinity project it takes too long.... While I'm making changes and click build web site it may takes at least 3-4 minutes or more(sometime it can build the project fast in 10 seconds but it happens once in 20 builds). I own this mashine:

    Intel Pentuim (R) Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.0Ghz
    RAM 4 GB

Can You suppose why the building takes to long.

    Thank You in advance,

    Lazar Atanasov

    Hello Lazar Atanasov,

It depends on how many files you have modified and if there are any dependencies between them. If you use 32 bit os only 3 GB ram will be used. The building time depends on the C#/VB compiler which is not controlled by Sitefintiy.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.
When I make a small changes for example change only one code line but the build time is long too. So it is really strange.

    Regards

    Hello Lazar.

You can read this article about building a website project vs web application project here. You can consider using web application project for faster compilation but you will have to build your project every time you make even a simple change. It's a matter of choice. However, it is not Sitefinity related as this has been as issue with website project since Visual studio 2005.

    Best,
