    I want to change the permalink created in the NewsView control from "Full Story" to "Read More ..."

    I can't seem to find this setting anywhere.  Can somebody please help me out?

    Thanks

    Hi Orion,

    You need to map the external template ListPageMaster.ascx and modify it. You should add the external resource files as well and change the value for "FullStory" in the ListPageMaster.ascx.resx.

    I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with that process.  I'm not really a programmer, so my experience so far is limited to working with the Master pages and style sheets, and making graphics.  I rely on a developer here to setup Sitefinity when doing a new site, and he doesn't really have time to help me out with this so I need to do it on my own.

    Do you have a link to someplace that shows where these external resources are located and how to "map" this external template?  I don't see "ListPageMaster.ascx" anywhere on my computer, for any of the sites I've done in Sitefinity.

    Thanks

    Hello Orion,

    Here is a link that describes how to get and map the external resources
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/knowledge-base/kb-article/b1154K-bcge-b1154T-cgb.aspx. After you have download the templates zip archive you will find ListPageMaster.ascx template in the follwing folder
    Sitefinity_3_6_1936_standard_ExternalTemplates\Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\News.  There is also the App_LocalResources folder from where you can get the resx files.

    All the best,
    Ivan Dimitrov

    Blimey! This is a bit complicated! Couldn't there just be an advanced option to change it like the others?

    Hi Ivor,

    The only option to change the link is mapping the external template. There is not a public property that you can use.

    Kind regards,

    I just thought of a simple CSS hack to achieve this. Copy and paste this into your style sheet...

    .sf_readMore
    {
    color: #ffffff;
    position: relative;
    }
    .sf_readMore:hover
    {
    text-decoration: underline;
    cursor: pointer;
    }
    .sf_readMore:after
    {
    content:"Read more...";
    color:#000000;
    position:absolute;
    left:0px;
    }
    .sf_readMore:hover:after
    {
    text-decoration: underline;
    }

    You will need to change the colours to suit
