We need to plug an e-commerce application into a Sitefinity site.  We create a virtual directory under the root folder of the sitefinity site.
But we got error if we didn't set 'inheritInChildApplications="false"' at <location path="."> tag in root web.config file.
If we did set 'inheritInChildApplications="false"', then we cannot use any built-in Telerik references.

Is there a way for us to use sitefinity built-in types in our child application?
At very least we need to get nodes from sitemap  (call something like:
            SiteMapNode startNode = SiteMap.RootNode; )

    Thanks.

    Hello,

You can try another approach. In the child web.config file, you could try putting <clear /> attribute in the sections that you do not want to receive settings from the parent web.config file.
Otherwise, you are right about the inheritance and the references, but this is how asp.net works.

    Best wishes,

    Hi,

Just a quick follow up - if my suggestion is not an option as well, you could implement a web service which will return you the sitemap node by an URL. Your 3rd party application will communicate with this web service, which will run under Sitefinity.
