When using Comments in Generic Content modules, can the Visible property for the comment be set to false at the point of user submission?

Also, how does the "allowModeration" value for the Generic Content Provider declaration factor into the end user or administrative interface? Right now, I've set that property to "true" and have seen no appreciable affect on any of the comments in the Generic Content.

    Hello Sam,

    1. ContentView control does not provide the required functionality to allow comments according to the user submission. To achieve this, you need to override the ContentView base class and implement the desired logic in the SetSingleItemContent  method of the child class. Here is a reference to a kb article that describes how to extend Content View.

    2. In order to enable comments in the Generic Content module administration, you need to do the following:
    • In the ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/CommandPanel.ascx template, add a link button with ID "commentsLink":

    <asp:LinkButton runat="server" ID="commentsLink" Text="Comments"/
    • Copy the ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Blogs/CommentsEdit.ascx~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Blogs/CommentsList.ascx, and ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Blogs/CommentsView.ascx templates to the Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content folder. You should also copy the resource files of these templates which are located in the App_LocalResources folder.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,
