    Hi

Loads of clients have recently mentioned that a contact us form you can customise would be a really good feature

So how about it SF team, could you create a module that enables you to add/remove text boxes etc and build your own contact us form?

that would be a great feature, especially as lots of websites have these forms.

    Hi Quade,

    Thank you for contacting us.
We have this feature request already logged in our system. It seems that the interest for it is growing, so we will reconsider it.

    All the best,

    Hello Quade,

hehe :), true I want to. However, I can tell you for sure that until the SP2 is out nothing well happen of it, but I have an idea how it could be done... in a reasonable little time.

Ohh... and by the way, you've gathered enough of interest. It's officially a post-it on my monitor. :)

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan

    Hi Ivan,

YESSSSSSSS..... Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaze consider this.  We love your blog and I've just spent about 2 hours searching the web for an ASP.NET Form Generator with no luck!  This is the biggest missing component in SF, in my opinion.  Waiting for 4.0 (if it's even scheduled for that release) would suck, since it'll realistically be next year before it's released.  An Ivan Forms Module  on your blog would be AWESOME.

If you think you might be able to create something, please let us know ASAP so I don't spend too much time looking for third party modules that will almost definitely be inferior!

    Also see Sitefinity Form Generator.

    Thanks a lot!

    Ben

    Hi all,

This to let you know that the Sitefinity Team started working on a Form Module. For more details, please, refer to the posting in the  Sitefinity Form Generator Thread.

As for Ivan  - he hasn’t been kidnapped : ) He was out of the office for the Gilbane San Francisco Conference this week.

Thank you all for the suggestions!

So, if it doesn't exist now...what are the options?

How can I get a form builder integrated into Sitefinity?

I don't know of any form builders that would plug in (I did spend some time looking), but if you are just looking for a form, you can build a UserControl with a form in it and then upload that and drop it on a page.  Pretty straight forward.  We've configured a couple have options (who they send to, from, subject lines, etc.) so when you drop them on and edit them via SF, you can tweak them.  That way the same form can be used on multiple pages/sites and can be tweaked each time.

    Hope that makes sense

    Hi Joel,

Have you done any work with UserControls?  Have you uploaded any to your Sitefinity site?

Create a new UserControl in Visual Studio, if you have it, drop a couple of controls on it (such as radio buttons and text boxes) and a button at the bottom.  In the code-behind for the button click you'd need to compile your data and generate an email from that.  I also write the content to disk, in case the email doesn't make it through.

Once you've done this, upload the UserControl and Code Behind file via the SF UI.

I don't have an example just ready, as we have various code libraries we've built up and it would take a while to compile a concise example.  Hopefully this is enough to get you going and you can Google examples of each of the different phases.

We've been looking at Wufoo.com as a form builder for end users - it is very easy to create forms and they can be embedded into your web site, which it looks like this sitefinity user is doing:

    Hi Elizabeth Munsey,

I just wanted to confirm that Form builder module is coming in Sitefinity 4.0. We have already started the testing phase on this module.

    Kind regards,
