    Hi,
I have a specific requirement with a custom module built in sitefinity. I have successfully managed to create the back end.

Now I require to create the front end for the same. This module is similar to news.

Now I want to add a control for teh user to select the multiple categories, so the data with relation to the categories are pulled and displayed to the user. For this I require something like the Listbox with checkbox in it.

Please let me know how can I acheive this.

    Regards,
    Siddesh Kapadi

    Hello Siddesh ,

You need to use a list of ICategory objects then you have to bind the RadListBox control.

    Hi Ivan,

The content management is not done within sitefinity, I have setup my custom tables in the same database.

I need to add the radlistbox as property and bind it with my data. And once the user needs to configure the control, he needs to edit the control and select the multiple categories in the radlistbox.

    How can I achieve this

    Regards,
    Siddesh Kapadi

    Hi Siddesh,

You need to create a custom WebEditor or control designer where you open a dialog that gets populated with the categories.

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I think this would be a great solution.

But for example, if the user deletes the control from the page, I need to delete the references for that control, how do I delete the references as well?

    Regards,

    Hi Siddesh,

You should create a service that loops through all places the you might have a reference to the data items. It would be better if this service runs once a day, since you should loop though all data where you reference this control.

    Best wishes,
