    Hi all,

Currently we have a blog which uses customized ContentViewItemList.ascx & ContentSingleItem.ascx templates that I have mapped. This template has a lot of conditional behaviors for layout etc depending on the blog content. Now what I want to do is add another blog that uses completely different templates for Post Lists & Single Items as the layout is completely different from the blog mentioned above. I know I will probably have to create a custom blog control that maybe inherits from blogpostview or something like that. So how can I achieve this?

    Any help is appreciated

    Cheers

    Hello Jodie,

You only have to create custom templates and map them through SingleItemTemplatePath and ItemListTemplatePath properties of the BlogPosts control. Using these two properties allow you to have multiple controls of the same type that use different presentation templates.

    Hi Ivan,

Oh of course! That makes total sense.... with all I've been doing lately I had convinced myself it would be complicated and had forgotten this, I remember this from when I started using sitefinity!

    Thanks for the refresh :)

    Cheers
