I have added some meta fields to the events module. But not added these to the admin interface. They are populated by user actions on the site.

However when the event is edited the values are lost.

This seems odd. It seems I have to put each field on the edit controls. Is this correct.

    Hi Simon,

Most probably when you edit the item the values are reset and empty string is returned. Thus your metakeys are reset. Make sure that you have added the metakeys if your web.config under <metaFields> section.

    Best wishes,

The fields are in the web.config.

I'm now trying to change the admin templates to include the fields but for the life of me I can't get the custom template I've created to be picked up.

I have this in my Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml file not the control isn't being used.
I have a similar line for the news edit item and that works fine.

    <
    viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Events.WebControls.Admin.EventsItemEdit" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsItemEdit.ascx" />

    Hi Simon,

Restart the application and the changes should take effect. The changes to ControlsConfig file require restarting the web server.

    Sincerely yours,
