    Hi there

I need to create a four-tiered document list with customised fields in my Sitefinity site and I was wondering how this could be performed by my content administrators, without having them to learn coding.

Is this achievable out of box with Sitefinity?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards
    Terrence

    Hi Terrence,

Thank you for using our services.

Adding new fields to Lists module is more complicated the the Generic Content based modules. You need to create a custom table that will persists your filed values using nolics which will require creating a new database table. Also you need to create a custom views and replace the default one.
As another easiest option you could use Generic Content module where you can add metakeys.

If your approach is different let us know.

    Hi Terrence,

You can take a look at Sitefinity dev manual Developing with Sitefinity > Modules > Modules API > Lists > Lists API Overview

You can also download the chm dev manual that applies to version 3.6.(http://www.sitefinity.com/support/documentation.aspx)
