    Hi,

I have this custom  box, a user controller wrapped on top of the generic content controller. I use it for design purposes - it is green and has some shadows.

In order to display the green box on every page, I drag and drop it in a placeholder.
I need to manage its content in one place and to see the update in every place where the box is used.

It is kinda like the behavior of the list - create one and then use it in one or more places.

Is there a simple way to do that?

    Thank you.

    Hi Ancuta,

Could you add the control in your master page/template and then use this template with your pages. By doing this you have to change only the instance of the control inside your template.

    Kind regards,

Thank you so much for the quick reply.

    I do have 2 concerns:

    1. I have more than 1 template (I actually have 3) and on the first on, the special box appears  on the left, in the other templates is no longer shown on the left side but i the middle of the page or on top of other images. The 3 templates are necessary (because of other elements present in the design). Is there a way to edit them all at once?

    2. If I place the generic content in a template, how will I edit its content?

I am fairly new to Sitefinity and I'm trying all this for a future project.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ancuta Me,

There is a workaround for your problem and it will work exactly how you would like it to work ... So i suggest that you try to do it as follows:

1- Go to Modules, Generic content then create a generic content and add your html there (let's say you call it GreenBox)

2- On each template you will drop a generic content wherever you would like then you would select this generic content that you created earlier using the "Select Shared Content" in the generic content editor under the RadEditor ... and use the GreenBox that you created

Thus you can edit your Green Box from one place (the modules -> Generic content) but you would use it on all of your templates.

    Best,

    George
