    I have created a custom control that incorporates the NewsView control in Sitefinity. In the code behind I am setting properties like this:

    NewsView.SingleItemUrl = "~/myUrl.aspx";

    I cannot seem to figure out how to hide the category and tag link by default? Any help you can give is appreciated.

    Hello Connections Academy Developer,

    Showing and hiding Categories from the ListPageMaster template is not an option of the NewsView control itself. This is control from the NewsViewControlDesigner. Setting the visibility through the designer programmatically is not so simple.  I suggest that you should create a custom control that Inherits from NewsView and overriding SetItemMetaData. Then get the control ( Hyperlink with ID Category) that shows item categories and hide it by using Visible property. You can expose another public property in your custom control to set the visibility from the control designer.

    All the best,
