    Hi Kamal,

    You can create a custom control that gets the IContent - Content. Inside your custom control you can use jQuery - show, hide functions.

    Hello,

    I have a quick question. I am trying to place some Generic Content items on a page and update the text from the Module without accessing the page in Edit Mode. At times, the Shared Generic Content item needs to be empty. I am getting an error at the moment when creating a Generic Content item which complains about me trying to create it empty.

    Is there a configuration setting in 3.7 which would enable me to create empty Generic Content items?

    Many thanks,
    Andrei

    Hello Andrei,

    You can map the external template - ContentNewView.ascx and remove the RequiredFieldValidator from it

    <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidator1" runat="server" ControlToValidate="Editor"
                        Display="Dynamic" EnableViewState="False" CssClass="validMessage" SetFocusOnError="True"><strong><asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:ContentEmpty %>"></asp:Literal></strong></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>

    Best wishes,

    Ivan,

    Can I not edit the template where it is, even if it affects the entire site? Or is it an embedded resource that I cannot get to?

    Thanks,
    Andrei

    Sorry, it is embedded it seems. Ok, thanks.

    Hello Andrei,

    Each view has its own template which is an embedded resources. So you need to map the view and template for it.
