We like the ability to add new library types to Sitefinity and specify different meta fields for different library types. However, doing so causes lots of confusion in the create/edit document pages in the Admin side since every library type seems to always share the same templates and therefore will display input fields for non-applicable meta fields..

We're very familiar with overriding templates and know how to do so, even for different providers, but we're wondering if there is a way to use a different edit/add template for different library types.

    Thanks!

    Hi Stuart,

There is libraryInfo element in the web.config. For each type there are properties

libraryItemEditTemplatePath and libraryItemBatchEditTemplatePath that you can use to set custom templates based on the library type.

    All the best,

Thanks, that worked great. Is there any way to override the admin item list template on a per-library-type basis?

    Hello Stuart,

There is no configuration property for the list template. It could be done with a custom implementation, but this will require to override Libraries module and switch the logic inside LibrariesControlPanel, so you will be able to load custom template based on the library type.
