    Hi

Every morning I login to Sitefinity to start my project, I get this message saying
" This application is currently offline. To enable the application, remove the app_offline.htm file from the application root directory."

I then have to delete the app_offline.htm from the project root and the site shows up. Is there a way to disable this feature? Any ideas why this is necessary?

    TIA
    FR

    Hello Femy,

This might happen if you use SQL Express database. The reasons for the described behavior are discussed in details in the following blog post:
Putting ASP.net Application In Offline Mode Using app_offline.htm

I hope the information is helpful for you.

    Best wishes,

I got this message today when I tried to edit the site, I refreshed my browser and then I could login. We are not using SQL Express.

    Hello Elizabeth Munsey,

To access the website remove the app_offline from project's root. The page is also generated during the build or when you click "View in Browser" on the Default page. Usually the app_offline pages are moved to the recycle bin.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ivan Dimitrov
