    When I try to set what fields are visible in an EventsView control's settings, it will display the desired fields once, then it will revert back to displaying everything.  The labels for the start and end dates are not appearing, though.  When I go back to the settings page for the control, all of my preferences are set, but they are not reflected in the actual page.  Can you please help me?

    Hello brian sullivan,

    We are aware of this problem with presentation settings in EventsView. It's a very serious one and related to application pool recycling: the settings remain in the control designer, but in fact, they are not applied to the control.

    We hope we find a workaround for this soon.
    Please take our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

    Greetings,

    Hello brian sullivan,

    You can try this workaround:

    In the global.asax file, located in your project's root directory, find the
    void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) method and add the highlighted line to its body:

    void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs on application startup
        Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.ContentSetting dummy = new Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.ContentSetting();
        }

    This should fix the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

    Actually, I think I spoke too soon.  The settings will stay applied for a little while, but then it will revert back to the way it was before, with all the information showing.  Is there a permanent fix in the works for this issue?

    Hi brian sullivan,

    Sorry, we omitted a line in the workaround. So the final code which should be added in the global.asax is:

    void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            // Code that runs on application startup
            Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.ContentSetting dummyContrnt = new Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.ContentSetting();
            Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.TextSetting dummyText = new Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.Settings.TextSetting();

        }

    There's no permanent fix for this yet.
