I'm new to Sitefinity and ASP.NET, so I'm sorry if I'm missing something simple.

I've been able to successfully add textbox fields for User Metadata in \Sitefinity\Admin\CmsAdmin\Users.aspx.

However, I would like to select a value for a User Metadata field from a dropdownlist control bound to custom table. Is this even possible?

I thought the MetaMaster might be the answer, but I don't see how it would help me bind the control. I believe the Dropdownlist's "SelectedValue" property would be the TargetProperty.  I'm unable to reference the controls' id directly to bind it to my data.

    Hi gnova11,

MetaMaster does not have to do anything with users. You need to bind your DropDownList control to a datasource. The use SetPorpertyValue and GerPropertyValue methods to set/get data.

I've got the binding working in a test page. The problem is using the FindControl("Control ID") properly.

    I'll work it out.

Sorry about the MetaMaster reference. I realize now that it doesn't work here.

    Thanks.
