    Hi,

I am getting the following error in a generic content, what could be causing this issue:

    Error Rendering Control - GenericContent1
    An unhandled exception has occurred.
'/Library/Retrieve.cfm?D=10.1598/RT.62.3.2&F=RT-62-3-Reutzel.pdf' is not a valid virtual path.

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hi Annie,

You have some bad/not well formed url in the content of the GenericContent control that points to a file called D=10.1598/RT.62.3.2&F=RT-62-3-Reutzel.pdf which cannot be parsed by ASP.NET resolver.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your reply. We did not have this issue in 3.7 sp3 website, is there a way to turn of the asp.net resolver? The url points to a virtual directory in IIS

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hi Annie,

The only way to stop the urls resolving is creating a custom control that inherits from Generic Content and override its Render and RenderTextContent. You might find this KB useful.
