Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.312; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.833

I am running Sitefinity v3.1 on Vista Enterprise.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1.
Create a new project using ProjectManager
    2.
Set up the database to be - Sql server 2005. In my case, I have an existing database (copied from our live website in production)
    3.
ProjectManager displays "Register Administrator" UI with a message that says:

The Membership Services database already contains users with unrestricted permissions: user1, user2

Note: You need to know the password of the user in order to log in.

    4. Click on "I am done" button. The exception mentioned above is thrown.

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

    Rebecca,

    Thanks for a prompt reply.

I tried compling my website project with Visual Studio and got some compilation errors:

Error 1 The resource object with key 'SelectAnItem' was not found. C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.1\WebSites\FirstSite\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Blogs\ContentSelector.ascx 2
Error 2 The resource object with key 'Select' was not found. C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.1\WebSites\FirstSite\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Blogs\ContentSelector.ascx 6
Error 3 The resource object with key 'Items' was not found. C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.1\WebSites\FirstSite\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Blogs\ContentSelector.ascx 7
Error 4 The resource object with key 'Cancel' was not found. C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.1\WebSites\FirstSite\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Blogs\ContentSelector.ascx 11

I did not see any resource file for ContentSelector.ascx in App_LocalResources folder (C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.1\WebSites\FirstSite\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Blogs\App_LocalResources\)

While creating the new project, I did not receive any error.

    Hi Nitin,

Yes this was a known issue with v.3.1. Please copy the .res file from the attachment in the following folders:
    • ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Blogs/App_LocalResources
    • ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/App_LocalResources
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Rebecca,

That resolved the compilation errors. Thanks! However, I am still encountering the same exception I reported earlier.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Nitin,

Most probably you have missed to copy your custom files (App_Code, .dll, .cs, ..) from your old project to the new one. Please check the the User Manual -> Working with Web Site projects -> Upgrading Projects to Sitefinity 3.1 topic on page 35.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Greetings,
    Vlad
