I want to extend the library by creating to store the links to youtube videos. I know I can use lists but I wanted all this type of content to be maintained in one area.

    1. I would want to search and add youtube videos to the list using youtube API.
    2. Create a control to play back these videos by either creating the embedded code or use JW flv player or extend the video player control to support FLV files or URL links.
    3. How do I add and enable another link in the command panel when dealing with a YouTube library, for example (ViddlerSynchronizerView) a view to the Youtube search and adding screen nameYouTubeSearchView.
    4. Also I would add the additional meta field to handle the URL or the ID of the video in the web.config and admin pages etc.

My real concern is: How do add another view to the library and the link in the Command Panel to only show when it is a youtube type of library.

Any ideas on getting started would be nice.

    Hi warfee,

Thank you for contacting Telerik Support.

The best way to do this would be to create a custom module that would inherit from the Libraries module. Then you will create the custom library type and create a custom Command Panel. Articles on how to create command panels and reuse views can be found here: Sitefinity backend architecture TOC. Here are the resources from this blog post for the Command Panel:

    Command Panel
    What is its role?
    Automatically generating commands
    Adding commands manually
Creating command panel from User Control
Creating command panel from Custom Control Using multiple command panels

    All the best,
