I am working on moving an application which uses Forms Authentication and has all it's database interaction through WCF services. The admin (Sitefinity) module with have AD based login but the customer website will have DB based login but all of that would be done through WCF services.

Do I still need need to have to configure multiple membership provider when I have to have 2 forms authentication modules - one for Sitefinity (AD based) and one for customer website (DB based)? My understanding is because I don't have any DB interaction directly from the website (customer), I don't really need to configure multiple membership providers. Please advice!!!

    Hello Paritosh Arya,

Thank you for using our services.

It is preferable that you add the secondary membership and role provider (DB based) in the configuration of the website so that you can set permissions for the roles coming from this provider. That is if you need to set View permissions for your CMS pages to users coming from the DB membership and role providers.
