    Hi,

I have an issue with the forums module.
I've set up a default role for forum users, how do i give this role permission top edit their own posts only.
I can deny permission to edit any posts, or grant permission to edit all (other people posts too). but nothing in between.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Iain,

Thank you for using our services.

I created a role called Forum with two users forum and forum2. Then, using the administrative account created an forum. Gave the following permissions to my role(Forum) under Forums module : Create and View set to Allow and Deny for other permissions. Check out the screenshot represent the admin part of Sitefinity.
Afterwords, I added a forum  control on the page and user forum2 cannot edit posts of user forum. Check out the screenshot represents the public part of Sitefinity.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Ivan,

Your solution above does not work in SiteFinity 3.5 SP1. Sure, the edit and delete buttons display for the post of the user currently logged in, however - as soon as you hit the reply button - you're redirected to the login page.

In our instance, we are using the seperate controls on each page - and have configured the login page within the appropriate controls.

    Any other solutions?

    Hi Craig,

Thank you for using our services.

Due to ownership over the items owners can manage their's posts. Other users ( except the admin) cannot manage posts that has not been created by them. The screenshots below represents this situation, where one user cannot edit the other user post - edit, delete, reply buttons are available only for this user post and this is the reason why there are "reply" buttons of some of the posts.
I checked this under 3.5 SP1. Also, send you a reply to your ticket request,

Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Sincerely yours,
