I've seen mention in a few forum posts that Google Analytics is Sitefinity compatible but I haven't figured out how to actually implement it.

    What's the best approach?

    Hello Josef,

You could insert the tracking code (the script text) for Google Analytics in the .master pages of your project.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Pepi,

That's exactly what I thought to do.

At first, Google wasn't able to verify that it could detect the tracking code on my site. Then later, Google's system started reporting that it was "receiving data" so I suppose that it is working.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I insert the google analytics code but analytics is not receiving any data. It shows that the code is active but it only records one hit per day. Please advise

    Hi Bruno,

Did you insert the tracking script code into all your .master pages (as Josef describes)?

If you're setting up Google Analytics for the first-time, you might encounter an initial delay with the data.  When I first attached Google Anayltics to my web site, I had to wait several hours before the statistics were refreshed.

I've been using Google Analytics for about a year now and it's working great. Gabe's suggestion is exactly what I was going to write.

my first time using sitefinity... can someone tell me where the .master page(s) are? How do you enter in the coding? I am having the same problem where google analytics is not picking up the tracking.

    Hi Josef Rogovsky,

Master pages are located in ~/App_Master directory of your website. As normal you should wait a little bit while the GA has some data for you.

    All the best,
