    Hi there!

    It is, however, possible to hide the File-Section in Dashboard?

    I've commented out the specific parts in web.config and the FileManager returns an error, but the Link in the Dashboard remains there.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dieter

    Hello Dieter,

    Thank you for using our services.

    To remove the Files link from the dashboard you can open up ~/Sitefinity/Admin/Default.aspx and comment out the respective lines for it:
    <li runat="server" id="filesLi" class="directionClear">
        <h3><a runat="server" id="filesLink" href="Files.aspx" title="<%$Resources:FilesTooltip %>"><asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:Files %>"></asp:Literal></a></h3>
        <p><asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:FilesMessage %>"></asp:Literal></p>
    </li>

    To remove it from the admin navigation, please open ~/Sitefinity/Admin/Admin.master.cs and modify the MainMenu_DataBound method:
    protected void MainMenu_DataBound(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        var filesTab = MainMenu.FindTabByText("Files");
        if (filesTab != null)
            MainMenu.Tabs.Remove(filesTab);
        if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(this.currentTab))
            SetCurrentTab(this.MainMenu.Tabs, this.currentTab);
    }
