    Hello everyone,

We've implemented Sitefinity's Search feature for our blog (haven't gone site-wide yet), and we've noticed it doesn't work as expected. Could you help us figure out how to give Search the following functionality? In the examples below, I've put the exact text being entered into the search box in bold text.

    Currently working

one two - acts as a logical AND, returns posts with both terms. Works as expected.

one and two - acts as a logical AND, returns posts with both terms. Works as expected (but probably just is the same as above, and ignores the word "and").

    Currently not working

"one two" - returns posts with the exact phrase one two, but also highlights individual instances of the words in the search result. It should just highlight the exact match.

    one or two
    - acts as a logical AND, returns posts with both terms. This should act as a logical OR.

one - returns only the word "one." Should return any word starting with one, i.e. oneself, backbone.

I'm sure I saw a post on this somewhere, but I couldn't get the forum search to turn up anything related. Can you help give me an idea of how we can set Search to act the way we'd like it to?

    Thanks,

    Hi Connections Academy Developer,

Thank you for using our services.

Can you go to the page where you have the Search results control and enable the Wildcard and Fuzzy Searches? To do this open the Search Results control for edit and in the Validation section set the EscapeSpecialChars to false as in attached image. Then observe the results. For more information on how to tailor the search to your requirements please take a look at this webinar: Working with Sitefinity Search
