    Hi,

    I have a problem with Images and Documents module. When i adding new document there is a textarea Description. The problem is when adding more then 250 chars in this input box then application return next exception

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Value for property ShortText is too long. Maximun length is 250

    Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

    Exception Details: Nolics.ORMapper.Base.LengthException: Value for property ShortText is too long. Maximun length is 250

    I can't find the view for this form to fix this by JavaScript or by code behind etc.
    Could you please advise me the fastest solution how to fix this ? Because users definitely will not happy to count each char entered in this textbox :) Or maybe there is an easy way to extend this value to more then 250 by changing this filed property in Database ?
    I've attached scerenshot with the problem textbox.

    Hi paxer,

    The issue which you are experiencing is because the description field for images and documents items is set to be short text. You can modify this from the web.config:
    <metaFields>
        ...
        <add key="Libraries.Description" valueType="LongText" visible="True" searchable="True" sortable="True" defaultValue=""/>
        ...
    </metaFields>

    However you would have to upload existing items again as the DB will think that the ones uploaded before the change still have the ShortText setting and will thrown an error, however will save the longer text.
