    Hello,

    I followed steps in this link - http://www.sitefinity.com/support/kb/sitefinity-3-x/how-to-apply-custom-style-sheets-to-sitefinity-content-view-controls.aspx

    My Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml looks like :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <controlsConfig>

        <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.News.WebControls.NewsView">
          <additionalTemplates>
            <!--Provides user interface for displaying a list of news items in the NewsView control for the News module.-->
            <add key="ItemListTemplatePath" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/ListPageMaster.ascx" />
            <!--Provides user interface for displaying a single news item in the NewsView control of the News module.-->
            <add key="SingleItemTemplatePath" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/ListPageDetails.ascx" />
          </additionalTemplates>
        </viewSettings>

    </controlsConfig>

    I have added external templates ( ListpageMater and ListPageDetails ) to  Sitefinity ->controltemplates--> news folder . And also the related CSS file which is newsCommonLayout.css and given path to CSS file in both of these user control files.
     But I am getting this error:

    Invalid property name "viewSettings" for configuration element "ControlsConfig".

    Is there anything am I missing? Please, help.

    Thanks,
    Nischal

    Hi Nischal Jain,

    You should add the <viewMap> element right after the <controlsConfig> element

    <controlsConfig>
      <viewMap>
     ....
           ...
    <viewSettings  .....

    Sincerely yours,
