    Hi,

    I am using:

    [

    WebEditor("Telerik.Libraries.WebControls.DocumentsSelector, Telerik.Libraries")]

to select a document from the library. When the list of documents comes up for me to select a document, I see just white squares with nothing on them. I can select a square, but I do not know which document that is. Is that a bug? All the items in that library come up as just white squares with no details on them at all? I wanted to upload an image to show you what I mean, but the image uploader in this page does not work properly.

My trial license has expired, but I have not yet finished evaluating the features available in Sitefinity, so I hope you can help.

    Thanks.

    Hello Andrei,

I figure out that another template should be loaded for this selector. The solution is to override the selector and point it to another template with different ID. The correct template should be ~\Sitefinity\UserControls\Dialogs\ItemDialog.aspx

I will write a blog post after our release, where I will provide a fix for this problem.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Ivan,

Thanks for getting back. I am not sure how to point it to another template so I will not do that. But instead I will wait for Sitefinity 3.6 which I understand is coming out soon, or am I wrong? We would like to buy a Standard version but if 3.6 is coming out soon then we think it would be better to wait a little bit, as long as it is not too long.

I had to uninstall teh trial version that I had because the license expired. I did not get to evaluate all teh fetaure, but from what I saw, Sitefinity is what we need so we are looking forward to 3.6. Will this issue then be fixed in 3.6 so that I won't have to override anything or will I stil have to point to the right template?

Thank you very much for your replys.

    Andrei

    Hello Andrei,

Probably, this will not be fixed in 3.6. We started with the build management already, because we will try to release in the next few days. Some news for 3.6 could be found at our blog http://blogs.sitefinity.com/
I will try to come up with a solution about selectors, after the release.

Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Ivan,

I think we can wait for a few more days. I will keep an eye on the Sitefinity Website. One thing you could do for me is to give me some Instructions as to how to point to the right template. Does that involve changing code? Or is it just a case of changing some path in the web.config file? What do I need to do and how, would be very useful for me to know, because it is a quite important feature for us.

Also, if you could let me know as soon as you fix it, it would be great.

Thanks again for all your help.

    Andrei

    Hi Ivan,

Just got the Sitefinity 3.6 Beta and trying some of the User Controls that were working in the 3.5 version. One control does not work.

I am selecting a document from the Documents library and I am getting this as a path. [Libraries]fd81dee6-715e-43a4-8c21-fce585f0fb16

    Now I used to use: Telerik.Web.UrlPath.ResolveUrl(doc_path);
but now it does not work. It can not find the resource so I changed to: Telerik.Web.UrlPath.ResolveAbsoluteUrl(doc_path); but it does not work either. Not sure what is going on.

Also, the problem about the Library items looking like white squares still stands. Let me know if you can help.

    Thanks

    Andrei

    Thanks

    Andrei

p.s. I tried redirecting towards the ItemDialog.aspx and still the same problem. Really unsure and frustrated about this problem.

    Hi Andrei,

It turned out that the problem is not in the template that the selector uses and probably it should be fixed in the source. I tried overriding ItemTemplatePath, but the same problem. 3.6 is in BETA release and there could be some problems.

Please send the user control you have to ivan.dimitrov@telerik.com

    All the best,
