    Hi.

I have a master page with codebehind file that I am trying to upload. I am encountering the following behavior:

In first attempt, I receive the error specifying that the .cs file for that master page does not exist.

If I hit the back button and click on "Upload this master page" button again, it does not complain about the missing .cs file but lists the template for that masterpage with an error icon.

The default.master and header, footer, content, sidebar.master files that are present in App_Master folder don't have a code behind file specified.

I have a few properties that I want to expose from my master page. What do I need to do to make it work?

    Thanks in advance.

I figured it out. Never mind :)

The .cs code behind file needs to be manually copied in App_Master folder before uploading the .master file using sitefinity "admin" interface.

Sorry about rumbling on this topic one more time but I think it will be nice if Sitefinity interface would let us specify the code behind file for the master page while uploading it (just like uploading a user control). That might save a bit of confusion.

    Hello Nitin,

Actually, we have thought about this issue before and we'll definitely discuss possibilities for its implementation for some of the upcoming releases.

On Sitefinity 3.5 I am experiencing something similar. When any of the devs go to upload a Master Page (even after selecting the code behind file), it does not get uploaded to the server. This is not something we seen with previous versions and this is our first project on the 3.5 system. It does correctly upload the Master Page itself however. Any thoughts?

Just for reference, I noticed someone else was having a similar problem:

Just for reference, we have multiple Sitefinity applications running on the same server and this is currently the only one with the problem (and the only one running 3.5). Thanks in advance guys!

    Hello Joel,

This is a known issue in v3.5. The problem was fixed for our last release (v3.5 SP1). So we would strongly recommend you upgrade your project to the latest Sitefinity version. Another possible workaround is to copy manually the master page code behind file in the ~/App_Master folder.

Do let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Sincerely yours,
    Pepi
