    Hi,
I'm struggling a bit here, I'm trying to modify the default news list template,
I make some minor html changes to the repeater in ~/sitefinity/controltemplates/news/newslist.aspx
the changes are not reflected in my site, I've also tried specifying the newsListItemTemplateUrl  in the news provider. ( although from what I've seen the above should be the default anyway. )
    What am I missing?

    Hi Matt,

Actually, ~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/News/NewsList.aspx template is used by the obsolete NewsList control. I assume you use the new NewsView control.

So, if you would like to modify the NewsView control designer then try editing the following file:
    ~\Admin\ControlTemplates\News\Design\NewsViewControlDesigner.ascx

If you would like to change the templates for the public part then modify these files:
~ \Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\News\Modes\ListPageDetails.ascx - represents the template where you can fiddle with the appearance/behavior of the NewsView Single Item mode
~\Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\News\Modes\ListPageMaster.ascx - represents the template where you can play around with the NewsView Item List mode (the repeater displaying a list of news items)

Please describe in details if there is some misunderstanding.

    Best wishes,

Thanks, I had tried modifying these and had no noticable effect,  the problem was I was just trying to change the PublicationDate format string initially.
I found the answer (to use the <sfCtrl:DateTimeLiteral )
    here
