    Hi

    Im creating a church website
They want a feature to download the sermon audio and powerpoint notes, they usually store the powerpoint in 3 versions 2003, 2007 and PDF

    1) Can i extend the images and documents module to allow for an audio file and documents
    2) I dont want to host the audio locally, are there any 3rd party places that i can embed a streaming audio/download audio feature whilst still being linked to the docs module?
    3) I was planning on using 3.7, but is 4.0 better for this type of thing?

    Thanks

    Hi Markus,

    1. You can upload your audio files in library of type custom, but we do not have an audio player out of the box.
    2. You can use amazon or fiddler providers
    3. Sitefinity 4.0 has better architecture. Currently Sitefinity 4.0 does not have streaming provider implementation. We will start working on this after Q1.

    Hi Markus,

You can take a look at this website (currently in test), but it will be online soon:
    http://test.evangelischegemeente.nl/media

This site is build in SF 3.7 (SP4 / .NET 4.0)
I created a media module which gets its content from a custom library. It uses flowplayer to play files.
So, it is possible to do it in SF 3.7.

In my opinion it is a bit too early to do this in SF 4.0.

    Greetings,
    Daniel

    Hi Markus,

No, I haven't build this as a separate module. Would be a nice add on though.
I could point you in the right directions?

You can email me if you want. Maybe we can work out something?

    Regards,
    Daniel
