    How do you set the module to come in the month view by default rather than the day view?

    Hi Ron,

    You should add the SelectedView property in the RadScheduler declaration. Please open the file EventsScheduleView.ascx located in \[YourProject]Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Events and make sure the RadScheduler declaration look like this:
    <telerik:RadScheduler ID="eventsSchedule"
       runat="server"
       SelectedView="MonthView"
    </telerik:RadScheduler>

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    A couple of other display issues with the calendar display.

    In the default community site using Modern Light, the date field in the heading is currently white on white so it does not display. Seems to be buried pretty deep in css according to Firebug.

    In addition, I would also like to change the vertical setting on the calendar to extend vertically without a scroll bar for a front page event view of the whole month.

    Hi Ron,

    as you have seen, Events Schedule View is basically just a wrapper for the Telerik's RadSchedule control. You can find plenty of information on RadScheduler and its customizations at this page:
    http://demos.telerik.com/ASPNET/Prometheus/Scheduler/Examples/Overview/DefaultCS.aspx

    I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Sincerely yours,

    I am missing a link here. I can see in the documentation about setting or overriding properties say for the RadScheduler OverflowBehavior. Where is that changed? I don't see RadScheduler under RadControls or Sitefinity Directories. I also don't see it under Control Templates where for example I changed the default EventSchedulerView to month.

    Hello Ron,

    Thanks for contacting us.

    The RadScheduler is under the events module and you would need to edit the public side of the tool, which your end users will view. The templates you need to edit are in the following directory: ~\Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Events\EventsScheduleView.ascx

    The template for the RadScheduler is located here:

    ~\Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Events\EventsScheduleView.ascx

    Please let us know if you need further assitance.

    Kind regards,
    Joe

    This appears to no longer be the case with 3.6 sp1, how is this achieved now?

    Hi Bill,

    Sitefinity version 3.6 introduced a new way of handling templates - most control templates used by Sitefinity are now embedded. This greatly improves the process of upgrading to new Sitefinity versions.

    The EventsScheduleView template is also embedded. In order for you to modify any of the embedded templates, there are several steps you need to follow. You can read the instructions in the following article:

    It seems like such overkill to have to use external templates just to have the calendar default to month view - for future releases, is this going to be a property that can be set in the settings or is this still going to have to be done this way moving forward?

    Hi Elizabeth Munsey,

    This is a nice suggestion, it seems very reasonable to me. I am logging it, and will discuss it my colleagues.

    You can already do this -  I just stumbled across it, why doesn't Telerik promote this? To change to month view:

    Edit the Events Schdule view and go to properties. In the "Misc" Section, click on the "Edit" button next to the Scheduler field. Scroll down to the Layout section. Under "SelectedView", switch to "MonthView".

    Now it will display by month.
