For this particular case I am working with the News.  On a single news item I'd like to display the social networking bookmarks at the top of the page as opposed to the bottom of the page.

Any ideas that don't result in me creating a custom control?

short of manipulating the html with jquery or hacking the position with css, I can't think of a way to do this without mapping a custom template. It is a very simple process, you don't build a custom control, you just map it to an existing one.

you could use the built-in one exactly as it is (since it matches the one embedded in the binaries) by copying it from the external templates download from your sitefinity account. then just move the html for the social bookmarks to the desired location.

another alternative is to elmiinate the bookmarks altogether and use jquery to insert an AddToAny widget (http://www.addtoany.com/) but even this would be simplified with a custom template.

    hope this was helpful!
