We have been trying to figure out an issue with blog postings for a quite time now. We have two Master templates that we use for our web site. We have a blog post control in the third column of the Master template to display just the summary of latest blog items in the third column. We use these master templates to create individual pages. We have a page called as a blog page where we use the blog post control to display the entire contents of the post items in main content of the page. We are displaying the tags for each post item on this particular blog control in main content of the page so that people can look at all the posts with the same tags.
And we know that when you click on a tag it filters the postings on the same page by adding the query string at the end of the present page something like: “blog.aspx+ BlogTagID=2d33a064-4b4f-408c-b4ea-8b7a09d84dfb”. As expected this works fine and it filters the blogs item for the control in the center of the page. But, the main problem here is that it also filters the posts for the blog control that we have in the third column of our Master page. So is there any way that we can stop this from happening, meaning these two controls can be independent of each other. Is there any way that we can set a property in the blog post control so that the blog control in the main content of the page is independent with the blog control in the third column, as we just want the control in the center of the page to filter the posts according to the tags and not the blog control in the third column. Could you please provide us with the opinions that we use to remedy this issue.
Thank you for all your time and support. Please advice.
