    Hello,

We have been trying to figure out an issue with blog postings for a quite time now. We have two Master templates that we use for our web site. We have a blog post control in the third column of the Master template to display just the summary of latest blog items in the third column. We use these master templates to create individual pages.  We have a page called as a blog page where we use the blog post control to display the entire contents of the post items in main content of the page. We are displaying the tags for each post item on this particular blog control in main content of the page so that people can look at all the posts with the same tags.

And we know that when you click on a tag it filters the postings on the same page by adding the query string at the end of the present page something like: “blog.aspx+ BlogTagID=2d33a064-4b4f-408c-b4ea-8b7a09d84dfb”. As expected this works fine and it filters the blogs item for the control in the center of the page. But, the main problem here is that it also filters the posts for the blog control that we have in the third column of our Master page.  So is there any way that we can stop this from happening, meaning these two controls can be independent of each other. Is there any way that we can set a property in the blog post control so that the blog control in the main content of the page is independent with the blog control in the third column, as we just want the control in the center of the page to filter the posts according to the tags and not the blog control in the third column. Could you please provide us with the opinions that we use to remedy this issue.

Thank you for all your time and support. Please advice.

    Regards,

    Kiran.

    Hello kiran,

Open BlogPosts control that you want to filter and change TagItemKey under QueryString Keys. You should set TagItemKey value inside TagsList control as well.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. I am sorry, I am not able to understand the response. I am not using a tag list control.
We have two BlogPosts controls on the page. We have placed a blog posts control in the third column of a master template which displays only the summary of the blog items.

We use these master templates to create individual pages. Now on a invidual page we placed a blog post control which show the entire post with the tags. But, when we click the tags on this page it automatically filters the other blog posts control present in the third column of the master page. We would like to make these controls independent of each other and not filter both of them. Please advice. Thank you for all your time.

    Regards,
    Kiran.

    Hello,

I am attaching a file which shows the properties that are set for both the BlogPost controls. I think there is a communication gap, the controls filter the posts according to the tags as expected. But, we don't want both of them to filter we just need one in the middle to filter not the one in the third column. Please let me know I can explain this again.

Thank you for all your help.

    Regards,
    Kiran.
