    Hello,

We are implementing a solution containing 2 or more SiteFinity instances with a single shared database.

One instance must act as an external website and the other instance must act as an internal website.
Therefore we have to maintain separated navigation menus and pages in our instances but we must be able to share content between our instances. (We have to use content from our internal site in our external site)

After some research we found a possible solution to do this:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/sitefinity-3-x/developing-with-sitefinity/run-multiple-community-editon-sites-from-one-sql2009-database.aspx

In this solution we can share generic content in one application to use it in our other application. To do this, we have first to share each content item before we can use it in the other application.

Is this the best solution for our requirements or do we have some other options? We are using SiteFinity standard edition.

    Kind regards,
    Antoon Tuijl

    Hi Antoon Tuijl,

The only way to have shared content is based on the application name of the providers as described in the post. When the application names are the same in your project the content will be shared.
