I've placed a News Archive control in a page to show all of my news and selected bulleted list mode. However everytime I click a month to show news articles under that month, nothing appears. How is the News Archive control supposed to work? Kindly see attached photo. Thanks much! :)

    Hi jkregala,

You should set ArchivePageUrl property of NewsArchive control. The value of the property should be a page on which you have NewsView control. The NewsView control reads the QueryString data and filters its datasource.

    Thanks! :)

Is there an option wherein the list of articles simply expands under the Month clicked? Just like in blogs.

    Hi jkregala,

NewsArchive and BlogsArchive has the same functionality. Both the controls inherits from ContentArchive  class. The difference is in NewsView and BlogPosts controls. BlogPosts control has several presentation modes. Generally you could use .toggle(), JQuery function to collapse/expand the content items.

Hi! Checked that one, but it's still the same as the one in NewsArchive. Kindly see attached screenshot.

I'm looking for something like this. I found this one in Blogger, I think it's a pretty common approach for Archives. Is there an out of the box approach in Sitefinity 3.7 for this Archives effect? Thank you :)

    Hi jkregala,

You can display the dates on which you have content items with Archive control in 3 ways

    •    Months - Displays only months in the archive
    •    Years - Displays only years in the archive
    •    MonthsAndYears - Displays both months and years in the archive

The control is used to set a proper query string to the url and then NewsView reads the QueryString and filters its datasource (this was also described in my previous reply to you). The control itself is not used to navigate to a single item of a given day/month

You can achieve your goal by creating a custom control with uses RadTreeView and Generic Content API. You have to get all content items and value of the Publication_Date metakey. This will allow you to build the nodes of the RadTreeView and bind it properly, so that you will have Years >> Months >> Articles per month.
